Serves : 4 - 6
Ingredients :
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp Champion standard plain flour
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 2 cups milk
- salt
- pepper
- 2 cups grated tasty cheese
- 2 cups Diamond macaroni elbows, cooked
- 1/2 cup chopped bacon, cooked
Method :
- Melt butter in a saucepan/pot.
- Add onion and cook until clear.
- Stir in flour and cook until frothy.
- Add the mustard.
- Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the sauce boils and thickens. Remove from the heat.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir in half the cheese.
- Add the cooked macaroni and bacon, stirring to combine.
- Pour mixture into an oven-proof dish.
- Sprinkle over the remaining cheese.
- Bake at 190oC for 20 minutes or until golden and heated through.
